Five Nominees up for Young Male Athlete of the Year: The nominees were announced for the 2014 U.S. Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year. All five have former ties to the Development Academy. They include U-17 MNT midfielder Mukwelle Akale (Minnesota Thunder Academy); U-20, U-23 and MNT midfielder Emerson Hyndman (FC Dallas Academy); U-17 MNT midfielder Christian Pulisic (PA Classics); U-17 and U-18 forward Haji Wright (LA Galaxy Academy) and MNT defender DeAndre Yedlin (Seattle Sounders FC Academy) who is age-eligible for the U-23s for Olympic qualifying.
